About Us

Our Mission and Impact

Land Acknowledgement

The Park Equity Alliance recognizes that we are living and working on the occupied homelands of Tongva and Tataviam peoples. We respect Indigenous communities and cultures as traditional and continuing stewards of lands, and honor their sovereignty especially when speaking about parks, public space/lands and the built environment.

Our Vision

We believe that everyone, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status, deserves access to safe and well-maintained parks and green spaces. Through our advocacy and community engagement, we strive to ensure that every individual has the opportunity to enjoy the physical, mental, and social benefits that parks provide.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower community leaders by providing them with opportunities to mobilize so they can become change agents in their own right. Through a variety of programs and initiatives, we create opportunities for cross-pollination of ideas and meaningful dialogue, all with an eye toward building leadership capacity and promoting equity in all aspects of community life.
